A new version of the Philips Hue smart home app has arrived. The change log for version 5.48.0 states that users will now get tailored recommendations for smart lighting scenes. Plus, the release brings the refreshed Hue logo, alongside a few other minor design tweaks in line with the updated branding.
The Philips Hue app version 5.48.0 has arrived. Currently available for iOS users, it arrives a couple of weeks after the version 5.47.0 release, which enhanced the reconnection process for the brand’s smart lights.
According to the Philips Hue app version 5.48.0 update release notes, the app will now provide more tailored scene recommendations. Users can expect to be served dynamic lighting effects to suit their chosen room or zone type.
With this update, Signify, the company behind the Philips Hue brand, has also added a refreshed logo. The new version loses the ‘Philips’ part of the brand name, with a tweaked design for the word ‘Hue’. The logo keeps the white background and gradient colored text. The new logo had already been spotted on some of the brand’s latest products like the Hue Play Wall Washer light (curr. $219.99 at Amazon). On top of this, there is a new intro screen, with a colorful background and a larger Hue logo. Plus, the font used for the name of your home and the background color of the app have been changed.
You can now download the Philips Hue App version 5.48.0 for iOS from the Apple App Store. A version of the update for Android users has yet to arrive. Historically, Android app updates have arrived a few days later than iOS updates, so it should be available from mid-August in the Google Play Store.
