WE ARE NOW square in the prime time of summer. As a gear editor, I’ve been canvassing the depths of the internet for all sorts of outdoor gear sales, and one thing became apparent—Amazon had some really solid Prime Day deals on outdoor gear. Even though Prime Day is well in the rearview mirror, I’m still seeing opportunities to save almost 50 percent on camping, hiking, and outdoor essentials from Yeti, Gerber, Coleman, Columbia, and more.
While Amazon isn’t known as a premier destination for all things outdoor, there are plenty of deals to be had on some premium outdoor gear. We’re still seeing seeing huge price cuts on coolers, water bottles, and a reliable power station for half-off. Looking for a new tent? Well, there’s plenty of those to go around, too. We rounded up the best Prime Day outdoor gear sales that are still happening below, but if you don’t trust us, feel free to shop the entire unvetted sale section here. But if you’re looking to save you’d better hurry, as Prime Day ends at the end of today, July 11.
Amazon Outdoor Gear Deals
If you’re planning on doing some backpacking this summer, the Osprey Farpoint 40L Men’s Travel Backpack is still 25 percent off—the same Prime Day deal. With an adjustable torso fit and an external gear attachment loops, this is a durable, versatile outdoor option that’s under $150 for a limited time.
Another highlight of what I’ve found—a couple of high-ticket Yeti items still going for 20 percent off. The super versatile M15 Soft Cooler still has a 20 percent discount, and the convenient Yonder Water Bottle is just $24. It was named our best overall water bottle, and it’s the one I use everyday—it’s lightweight, durable, and has an easy-to-drink chug cap. We’re seeing a bunch of Yeti products still on sale on Amazon, and this won’t last much longer.
For those in the market for a new tent, you’re also in luck. The Marmot Midpines is an easy, durable setup (and a sturdier step-up from cheaper brands) that’s 18 percent off in the four-person size right now.
Another great buy right now is the Coast RL35R Voice-Controlled Headlamp at $40 (43% off). Now I’m not one for voice-controlled tech—I don’t own a home smart device I talk to and I don’t use Siri. But I’ve been testing this headlamp for a couple months and have found it extremely helpful. The voice commands come in very handy when doing things like taking out the overflowing recycling at night with both hands, carrying my back-injury-riddled dog down the stairs to go out at night, and hauling firewood back into the house. It shoots out 1,100 lumens in varying patterns and dispersions, has four colors of light (red, white, blue, and green), and can be used without the voice commands as well. I’d never trail run with it (it’s quite heavy with a rechargeable battery pack), but it’s one of those rare tech advancements that I see value to actually institute in my daily life (and it was an Outdoor Awards winner this year).
Some of our other favorite deals include 44 percent off the powerful, yet compact Jackery Explorer 1000 Plus Portable Power Station (almost it’s Prime Day discount), 23 percent off the ultra-convenient Coleman Classic Recharge LED Lantern (same as its Prime Day discount), and 30 percent off the Columba PFG Uncharted Hoodie (close to its Prime Day price).
These Amazon outdoor gear sales are only here for a bit longer, but thankfully we’ve got summer ahead to enjoy all the gear we’re about to save on.
