SCHERTZ, TX, July 29, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ — Jennifer L. Ravenscroft, DO, FACOFP, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Having devoted more than two decades to the medical field and service in the United States Air Force, Dr. Ravenscroft has carved a distinguished career path. The first person in her family to attend college, she earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from West Virginia University, which led to a position at the National Security Agency. Her interest in science led her to return to college where her anatomy professor at Potomac State College, Dr. Ruth Ann Davis, suggested she pursue osteopathic medicine. She earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in 1997 and completed her residency in Family Practice in 2000.

Dr. Ravenscroft’s commitment to serving others was further exemplified when she joined the United States Air Force, entering active duty on July 4, 2000. Initially motivated by the desire to pay off her student loans while providing for her family, her experience in the military soon became a passion. She served as a family practice physician and rose through the ranks to become chief of staff at several U.S. and overseas military bases. Her assignments took her across the globe, including stations in Kuwait, Qatar, Japan, and South Korea. After being promoted to Colonel, she was appointed to the USAF Physical Evaluation Board until she was asked to join the Surgeon General’s office as the transgender policy program manager where she improved medical standards to ensure equity for all individuals. She also served as the COVID surveillance champion, coordinating surveillance activities throughout the U.S. Air Force.

After retiring from active duty in March 2023 — with her outstanding service honored by numerous medals from the U.S. Air Force — Dr. Ravenscroft transitioned to civilian roles while maintaining her connection to the military. Throughout her career she served in various offices with the Association of Military Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (AMOPS), including as president. She served as an adjudicator with the United States Army for over a year and a half, where she applied her expertise in military medical readiness to assure U.S. Army Soldiers received a full and fair hearing when going through the medical board process.

Currently self-employed as an osteopathic physician, health educator and freelance writer, Dr. Ravenscroft continues to share her knowledge and insights on osteopathic medicine, military medical service, and preventative care through various platforms. She continues to support AMOPS as a founding board member of the AMOPS foundation. She has been a delegate to the American Osteopathic Association annual meeting, representing the military, since 2017. She has been a member of various committees of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians including currently serving as a peer reviewer for the Osteopathic Family Physician, the official publication of the ACOFP.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Ravenscroft continues to maintain an active lifestyle through activities such as training for events like the Hotter’N Hell Hundred bicycle ride and practicing tai chi. Also known for her contributions as a civic-minded civilian, she participates in her local Catholic church community military ministry, determined to make a difference through all she does.

Dedicated to the ideals of continuous learning, she holds various certificates, including in Prompt Engineering for ChatGPT by Vanderbilt University and Instructional Methods in Health Professions Education. She continues to pursue courses in logic and ethics and has set up a reading list to become better educated on artificial intelligence. Looking ahead, she plans to delve into artificial intelligence studies and pursue freelance consulting while starting a blog dealing with life, the universe, and everything from an old lady’s perspective.

Dr. Ravenscroft attributes her success to old-fashioned stubbornness, a confidence in her own abilities and perseverance when that confidence was shaken. Her goal is to continue to inspire others through her example and to support new osteopathic physicians. Her personal life is equally enriched by her two children, her boyfriend, and numerous family and friends who bring joy to her life as she continues to explore new opportunities and challenges.
