Insta360 Go Ultra instead of Go 4: Extensive promotional image leak reveals more powerful 4K clip-on camera

TechnologyInsta360 Go Ultra instead of Go 4: Extensive promotional image leak reveals more powerful 4K clip-on camera

Square format, 4K60 upgrade confirmed

This was recently revealed in a comprehensive promo image leak, which, in addition to the official press photos of the camera itself (see above), also includes a few promotional images. These primarily detail the situations in which a vlogging camera could be useful, such as unforgettable moments on family outings, while exercising, or on a romantic date with your partner at the beach. The render images reveal a significant change in the format of the mini camera, which is now about twice as high and thus practically square, compared to the more egg-shaped format of the Insta360 Go 3S. Although no detailed specs for the new ultra-mini camera are available yet, the weight is likely to be heavier due to the size difference.

Whether this will have a negative impact when clipping it to a T-shirt, for example, remains to be seen. Nevertheless, the larger format is also likely to offer a larger feature set, such as a larger battery. One of these features is already known: instead of just 30 frames per second, the Insta360 Go Ultra can record at 4K60. The dock with the foldable screen (formerly called the Action Pod) has also changed slightly and now looks more like a small camera grip that holds the mini camera. A launch date and price are currently unknown. Of course, it cannot be ruled out that, in addition to the Insta360 Go Ultra, there will be a Insta360 Go 4 in a smaller format.
