Hello Kitty Island Adventure out on 5th August

Sunblink has confirmed its Animal Crossing alternative, Hello Kitty Island Adventure, will receive its PS5 port next week on 5th August 2025. The game first released for Nintendo Switch and PC at the start of this year to strong reviews, and those strong life-sim qualities are expected to translate to PS5.
The title will be available digitally via the PS Store on 5th August and then a physical version follows on 29th August. It’s also set to come to PS4, but a release date wasn’t part of today’s reveal.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure closely replicates the Animal Crossing experience, tasking you with restoring a theme park to its former glory.
Create a unique, Sanrio-style original avatar and get to know iconic Sanrio characters like Kuromi, Badtz-Maru, Cinnamoroll, Chococat, and Aggretsuko. Share gifts, complete quests, and take part in island activities to deepen your bonds. Spruce up cabins to attract new visitors from among Hello Kitty’s many friends. Create a stylish wardrobe all your own, solve mysterious puzzles, cook delectable recipes, collect friendly critters, and fish, and explore the island solo or with a friend to unearth the many secrets of a massive in-game world.”
Upon its Nintendo Switch release, the game earned a Metacritic rating of 80, with our sister site Nintendo Life awarding it an 8/10 score. “Hello Kitty Island Adventure proves an innovative entry into the social sim genre,” was the conclusion. “While borrowing from multiple powerhouse games, it brings a fresh experience that is likely to subvert the expectations of any Animal Crossing expats looking for their next cosy fix.”
