The Other World’s Books Depend on the Bean Counter Trailer Shows Off Cast and Crew

The BL light novel series The Other World’s Books Depend on the Bean Counter (a.k.a. Isekai no Sata wa Shachiku Shidai in Japanese) is receiving a manga adaptation, and it’s getting an anime adaptation as well! A trailer dropped for the anime that lets us know more about the cast and crew, plus that it’s slated to release in January 2026.
The Other World’s Books Depend on the Bean Counter Trailer
Here’s what we know about the cast:
- Kent Itō (Hirotaka Nifuji in Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku) plays Seiichirō Kondō
- Tomoaki Maeno (White Blood Cell in Cells at Work!) plays Aresh Indrak
- Seiichirō Yamashita (Rian Scrimgeour in The Ancient Magus’ Bride) plays Norbert
- Hiroki Tōchi (Pantherlily in Fairy Tail) plays Kamil
The adaptation is being made at Studio DEEN, with Shinji Ishihara of Reincarnated as a Sword helming the project as director. Series composition is being handled by Yoshiko Nakamura, whose credits include Sasaki and Miyano and Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-. The music is being composed by Megumi Ōhashi, known for also working on The Third: The Girl with the Blue Eye and Blue Dragon.
Kazuki Irodori, who is behind the manga adaptation, created this illustration to go along with the reveals.
Yen Press is publishing the original light novel series by Yatsuki Wakatsu and Kikka Ohashi, plus the manga adaptation. It gave this description for the plot:
